Deep Listening
Foundations

Deep listening is one of the most powerful and least practised skills in leadership, coaching, and facilitation. It is not about hearing words — it is about being fully present, tracking beneath the surface, and creating conditions for people to access their own wisdom.

This eight-week course teaches the evidence-based foundations of deep listening through video lessons, paired practice sessions, and bi-weekly group learning calls. By the end, you will have a listening practice that transforms your professional relationships and your impact.

The four levels of listening — hearing facts, tracking feelings, attending to values, and sensing what wants to emerge — form the core framework of the course. Each level builds on the previous, and each requires a different quality of presence.

1
Listening to content
Facts, events, what is being said — the surface layer
2
Listening to feeling
Emotional undercurrent, tone, what the body communicates
3
Listening to values
What matters most — the implicit commitments beneath what is said
4
Listening to emergence
What wants to be born — possibility at the edge of awareness

Develop the art and discipline of deep listening for coaching, facilitation, and leadership — learning presence, reflective practice, and the courage to truly hear another person.

"The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention."
