Power,
redistributed. An 18–24 month partnership that redesigns how your organisation holds power — root and branch. Not additive. Not cosmetic. Structural.

We work with organisations ready to dismantle the structures within themselves that perpetuate the inequity they say they oppose. This is collective work — it belongs to everyone it will serve.

"Liberation is not the project of any single body. It is the work of communities reclaiming their right to design the systems that govern their lives."

01

Most equity work in organisations is additive. Hire more people who look different. Run a workshop. Update the website. The underlying structure — who holds budget, who sets strategy, whose labour is invisibilised — remains exactly as it was.

"The master's tools will never dismantle the master's house. They may allow us to temporarily beat him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring about genuine change." — Audre Lorde

Liberation Studio exists for organisations who have admitted this to themselves and are willing to do the harder thing: dismantle the mechanisms of concentrated power and redesign them for shared authority, honest accountability, and regenerative reciprocity.

This is collective work. It cannot be done by leadership alone, by any single demographic alone, or by any consultant alone. Liberation requires the whole community — those who have held power and those who have been denied it — to do the work of redesign together, under conditions of honesty and accountability.

This is not for organisations performing equity. It is for organisations genuinely ready to practice it — at cost, over time, with discipline, as a community.

Collective Presence

The community
doing this work.

Liberation Studio centres those historically excluded from organisational power — across gender, generation, geography, and lived experience. This work belongs to communities. It is practised together, or not at all.

Who we centre
01
African & Diaspora women

Navigating structural headwinds in organisational leadership. Their knowledge, authority, and labour have shaped institutions that too often refused to name them.

02
Diaspora men

Relearning accountability and power-sharing within institutions — and doing the interior work that structural change requires of those who have inherited unexamined authority.

03
Young grassroots & rural leaders

Entering formal organisational structures from communities whose governance wisdom is rarely recognised as legitimate organisational intelligence. We centre that recognition.

04
Indigenous knowledge holders

Communities preserving matrilineal, traditional, and collective governance systems. Liberation Studio treats this knowledge as foundational input — not cultural decoration.

05
Disabled & neurodivergent leaders

People navigating disability, chronic illness, and neurodivergence within power-holding roles. Organisational structures were built without them. We redesign with them.

06
Power-holding leaders

Senior leaders — of any background — who are willing to examine and surrender unearned structural advantage. This work is not possible without them, and not possible without their honesty.

Six Areas of Practice

What we
actually do.

Six interconnected practice areas — none of them optional. This is not a menu. It is an integrated methodology designed to be delivered whole, with the whole community.

01
Power Audit & Mapping
Months 1–3 · Diagnostic

A rigorous forensic examination of where power actually lives — not on the org chart, but in budget authority, narrative control, hiring discretion, and policy access. Presented without diplomatic softening, to the whole organisation.

02
Governance Redesign
Months 3–8 · Structural

Reconstruct decision-making frameworks so that authority is shared, not delegated. Board composition, leadership selection, policy creation, and financial governance — co-designed with those currently excluded.

03
Pay Equity Framework
Months 4–10 · Economic

Transparent salary band design, pay gap analysis, and bonus reform. Includes invisible labour recognition — the work that keeps organisations running but is rarely compensated or credited.

04
Culture & Narrative Shift
Months 6–18 · Cultural

The stories an organisation tells about itself determine who belongs and who is tolerated. We redesign internal narratives — onboarding, performance language, celebration, and accountability — to centre liberation.

05
Leadership Transformation
Months 3–18 · Embodied

Coaching for leaders at every level on power, accountability, and embodied authority. Includes specific support for leaders from marginalised communities and specific challenge for those whose power has gone unexamined.

06
Accountability Architecture
Months 12–24 · Systemic

Build internal mechanisms that keep liberation commitments honest over time — without requiring the consultant. Community-led review processes, equity metrics, and escalation pathways governed by staff, not only leadership.

Six Phases

No shortcuts.
No bypasses.

Liberation Studio operates a six-phase methodology across 18–24 months. Each phase has non-negotiable deliverables. We do not offer accelerated timelines because structural change has its own clock.

Phase 1 · Months 1–2
Witness & Listen
6–8 weeks
Programme arc

Deep listening before diagnosis. We receive stories from every layer of the organisation — especially from those who have never been asked. No solutions are proposed in this phase. We only witness.

Voices

Those who
have done it.

Three people. Three entry points into this work. All of them changed by it — and all of them responsible for changing their organisations alongside it.

"

For the first time in twelve years, I sat in a governance meeting where I was not the only woman, not the only voice from the continent, and not the only person whose contribution shaped the decision. That is what Liberation Studio built with us.

Executive Director Pan-African Civil Society Network
"

I came in expecting to be the one who needed to change. What I did not expect was to discover that my whole team had been waiting years for the structural permission to lead. The pay equity process was the most important thing we did — and the hardest.

Country Director International Development Organisation
"

As a young man from a rural community entering a senior role, I had no language for what I was experiencing. Liberation Studio gave our entire leadership team that language — together. That is what made it hold beyond the programme.

The truth about this work

Change
the structure.

Not the optics. Not the messaging. Not the headcount. The structure — who holds power, who makes decisions, who is paid fairly, who is accountable to whom. This is collective work. It starts with one honest conversation.
